Lathrop is a security consultant, executive protection specialist, and business leader with more than two decades of experience in risk management, protective operations, executive protection, and security program development. Leveraging experience across private security, executive protection, law enforcement, military service, and the entertainment industry, Ryan provides practical, real-world security solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client.
Ryan's career began in Hollywood, where he worked in nightclub security before expanding into celebrity protection, residential security, event security, and executive protection operations. Throughout his career, he has managed security programs and protective operations for high-net-worth individuals, corporate executives, public figures, private estates, businesses, and high-profile events throughout the United States and internationally. His expertise includes executive protection, estate security, event security, threat assessments, security planning, and operational leadership.
Ryan's extensive leadership experience includes serving as President of 360 Group International, Inc., a multi-million-dollar security company. Having previously served as both a protection agent and Director of Operations within the organization, he returned following his law enforcement career to help lead the company's continued growth and operational success. As President, Ryan managed hundreds of employees and contractors across the United States and internationally, directed large-scale security operations, implemented company-wide policies and procedures, and coordinated with local, state, and federal agencies to support high-profile events and protective operations.
A Certified Special Operations Protection Specialist through Executive Security International (ESI), Ryan has received advanced training in protective operations, protective advances, motorcade security, evasive driving, counter-surveillance, surveillance detection, and high-threat protection operations. He has conducted and managed close protection assignments in both domestic and international environments while developing comprehensive security strategies designed to reduce risk and enhance operational resilience.
In addition to his security experience, Ryan brings a unique perspective from his background as a professional actor, performer, and dancer. He appeared in national tours, including Paul McCartney's Driving Rain U.S. Tour; theatrical productions such as Singin' in the Rain, Funny Girl, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Ten Commandments; television programs including Arrested Development and Malcolm in the Middle; motion pictures including RENT and Be Cool; and the Broadway production and national tours of Saturday Night Fever. Having worked on stage, on television and film sets, and within the entertainment industry, Ryan understands the challenges, expectations, and privacy concerns faced by performers, executives, production teams, and public figures. This firsthand experience allows him to develop security solutions that are both highly effective and minimally disruptive to his clients' professional and personal lives.
Ryan previously served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and later completed a distinguished career with the New York City Police Department, retiring in 2022. His combined military, law enforcement, and private-sector experience provides a well-rounded perspective on risk management, crisis response, and protective operations.
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Homeland Security from SUNY Empire State College, further complementing his practical experience with formal education in risk management, emergency preparedness, and security operations. Today, he leverages his diverse background to help clients identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risk, and implement practical security solutions that protect people, assets, operations, and reputations.
